Are Membership Sites the Way Forward?

There are a number of ways to earn income from a blog (sorry I hate monetize as a word!). I’m not going to list the options, but one way is to create some kind of membership scheme where you charge a monthly fee and give people access to a password protected section of your website.

Yaro Starak is a blogger in the “Make money from blogging” genre. He’s a genuinely good writer, and I both enjoy and learn from his writing and videos. He’s also an expert in membership sites – he runs the hugely successful Blog Mastermind program.

Now, I have a lot of questions to ask about setting up a membership program, and I suspect Yaro is the guy to answer them. The good news is that he is producing a free E book which should cover the subject in some depth. That makes a lot of sense. But first you have to create a site that is worth paying for. And even if it is worth paying for, you have to get readers to find you. That's my present situation - a needle in a haystack - trying to be worth reading.

I agree with you Ralph. In the early days it's a case of head down and keep going with the writing.Those of us who are still relatively new to blogging can't hope yet to attract paying members.

It is something I want to explore for the future though, which is why I downloaded Yaro's report.
