D-Day is something celebrated in UK every year. It’s 6th June - it was the date when allied forces landed in Normandy in 1944, and commenced retaking Europe from Nazi Germany. The expression has become a part of the English language, and people talk about “D-Day” in relation to projects and deadlines all the time.
D-Day will be special for me this year, because I have decided to launch my new project on that day. This is a blogging project, but it will be different in every way to the kind of blogging launch projects that we all see here on the internet. There will be no hype campaign, no lengthy sales page full of hyperbole and highlights, and no keeping everyone waiting until the last minute to learn the price! Lastly, the price has been pegged at a level that is actually affordable to the vast majority of people.
Allow me to introduce you to:
A Beginner’s Guide to Blogging
A beginner’s guide to blogging is a three month course for people new to blogging. It requires a commitment of 2 hours work per weekday, and it will:
Who is it aimed at?
How much is it going to cost?
How do people sign up?
Is there an affiliate program?
What next?
I’ve complained about excessive pricing on internet products, about those awful sales pages and about the hype surrounding new product launches. Hopefully I’m putting my money where my mouth is now and launching something which is good value, of real benefit and without all the BS.
I’d really like your feedback on this please. Am I crazy? Is it a good idea? Are people who would benefit likely to hear about it? I need your comments Mike’s Life readers!
Worth a look as well:
1/ Managing time effectively as a blogger
2/ Ten differences between journalists and bloggers
3/ The temptation to lie in your blog

Great idea
You are not crazy- but I hope you are patient! LOL I know there are people out there that are not blogging yet but want to- I get at least 2 emails a day asking 'how do you get started blogging'. I have sadly stopped replying, I just dont have the patience for teaching extremely new people. You should have seen me try to teach my grandmother how to check email- it was horrible!
Good luck and I think it will do great- put some focus on the key word phras "How to get started blogging" as that is the subject of most emails I have gotten on the subject. From now on I will respond to them pointing here- until you send me a link to the actual program I can send them to!
Eve's last blog post... Are any spammers actually successful?
Love your blog!
Hi Eve. I love your blog! Spammers? I'm guessing there are still people out there who read and click, after all there are still some people falling for the Nigerian money scammers! But I can't imagine the effort is worth the reward for them.
Thanks for the encouragement, and for suggesting you'll direct people here. Tell them to tell me you sent them!
I agree about the keywords. I plan to write regular updates as to how the project is going, and they'll all link together and use the main keywords.
Cheers
Mike
The Blogging Business
I think there is a certain conception that blogging is something you can do for free and make money from. Really, it's like every business, you have to either get training or learn on the job. It's going to take time and/or money. Which can the beginner spare?
I'm sure your course will be great value for those who wish to start a blogging business and want to get going quickly by putting up a little investment. The critical point is that they approach starting a blog as starting a business.
I wish you success in your project. I hope Darren Rowse writes about what you are doing Mike. It should be an exciting ride for those involved!

My thoughts too
Those are my thoughts too. At the end of the day you can get pretty much all the information you need via the net for free. But it took me almost a year of research to do that, so the aim is to get people going much, much quicker, which I hope will make the money investment worth their while.
