Eight Reasons to use Video in your Blog

If you’re a Mike’s Life reader, you’re probably a pretty good writer. That may be a reason you’ve shied away from using video on your blog, after all, writing is your best medium for sharing a message or making a point, right? But you do need to get in to video, and here are eight reasons why:

1. It will connect you much more with your community of readers if they can see and hear you
2. It will bring you traffic you may not otherwise get – people will find your videos, people who may never have found your site
3. Video posts are much quicker to produce than a written post – I can do three in an hour
4. It gives you a chance to introduce other people or to share your home and lifestyle with your readers
5. Your personality comes through and you can be much more assertive by using body language and hand movements
6. Assuming you load your videos onto several sites (and you should) then you’ll benefit from all those links from You Tube, Vimeo etc.
7. Videos are much more likely to be “sent” to friends as a link, bringing you new readers
8. They’re fun to make! They bring out the creative in you and get different parts of your brain working
