You might recall my post talking about creating a perfect about page for a blog.
One reader followed the advice, and that of the many commenters, and created a cracking example, which is worth checking out.
Dave Raybould is a snow boarding instructor, and as a boarder myself, we hit it off straight away. His site is called Simplysnowboard.com and here's a direct link to his about page: http://www.simplysnowboard.com/about/
This is what I like about it:
It covers all the key points. But I would suggest a couple of small changes:
1/ Give me some options of where to go next in the "How should I use the site?" section. Maybe group some posts into lists like "For beginners" or "Techniques"
2/ Link up the RSS feed and email subscription into the page, so I don't have to go looking for it.
3/ Give me a little more personal stuff. Where are you living now? Do you have a partner or kids? What else do you do other than snowboarding? People are really interested to know more about you. Your lifestyle is cool, capitalise on that.
4/ Add another image of you without the gear on, so we can see what you really look like!
Adding those would make this a perfect about page for me. What do the rest of you think?
Golden Oldies:
1/ Switching to a virtual private server
3/ I am Web 2.0
