How to get ideas for 52 blog posts in 3 days

Short answer: Take some time off!

Pirates

Long answer: I've just had three fabulous, action packed days off from the internet. Somewhat inspired by Gwen Bell's Digital Sabbatical, I didn't read an email or look at any social media on Friday, Saturday or Sunday.

Instead, I spent Friday chilling. Then on Saturday, we took our grand daughter on a fabulous pirate adventure to a neighbouring island called La Graciosa. We set off on a gorgeous catamaran and anchored in a sandy bay where the kids were taken ashore to find treasure, while we snorkelled, ate great food and enjoyed a few drinks. And finally, yesterday started with a deep scuba dive before we gathered with a big group of friends and family for a monster barbecue and a pool party which went on until we fell into bed last night.

It's energising and enriching to get away from the dreaded computer!

But the best thing of all is that my blog post inventory is chock full of new ideas. When I checked the notes in my Moleskin and added the voice memos to the list, I had a total of 52 things I want to write about!

And that comes from the outside stimulation of meeting other people and watching them, and seeing how other businesses interact with their clients. The kind of stuff you can't get from reading websites or RSS feeds.

Try it, you won't regret it!
