Making Money from My Blog - March 2009 Update

Despite the disastrous hard drive failure at the end of the month, I still ended up very, very happy with progress on the blogs. All the key indicators continue to move in the right direction, and I was amazed to discover that this blog:

Moved from Page Rank Zero to Page Rank Three

in the recent Google update. Remember the site is less than four months old!

Let’s give you some key highlights:

• Daily visitors now averaging over 320
• RSS readers up another 5% (still a bit disappointed)
• Subscribers up 13% (going well, but want more)
• Income for the month has grown by over 30%, which I’m delighted with!
• Half of the income is from sales of one of my own products, the rest from affiliate commissions and Adsense
• I finally made a sale through Amazon!
• Twitter followers over 1700

As with last month, progress has been steady but not spectacular, but everything is still on target to achieve all my objectives. This blog alone should be generating over $2,000 per month once it’s a year old, and then there are the other blogs!

Now, over to you for some help please. There are two areas I’m concerned about, any ideas?

• Traffic from search engines is only 15% of the total, I think that’s low, is it? How do I increase that?
• Subscribers aren’t growing as fast as I would like. Any ideas?
