New Staff Writer on Mike's Life

Thanks to so many of you for emailing me about the staff writer position I advertised here recently. I hope some of you will write some guest posts for our community, but in the meantime allow me to introduce you to Firas Steitiyeh.

Firas fulfils everything I was looking for in the role – he’s technical, really understands Wordpress and SEO and basically fills some gaps in my abilities to help other bloggers. The clincher for me is his helpful attitude and I’d like to tell you a story to illustrate it.

I’d been on Twitter for only a few days, and had very few followers and didn’t really know what I was doing. I was trying to design a logo for a new site at the time, and I put a Tweet out asking for advice about software. Firas came straight back to me – we hadn’t “met” at that point - and asked me what I was trying to do. I gave him a description and he said “Leave it with me for a couple of hours and I’ll come up with something.” True to his word, two hours later I had several options in different sizes and all he asked for in return was a link and a Tweet, which I happily did.

For me, that sums up what Mike’s Life is all about – being approachable, being helpful, and giving happily.

So I’m really pleased to welcome Firas on board, and I know we’re all going to benefit from his input on here. Look out for his first post next week.

Firas is 25, and lives in Jordan with his lovely wife Ayah @ayahnasan on Twitter. He’s strong on social media and has been involved in the internet since he was a teenager.
