Online Business Elements

This was meant to be a learning experience, a training exercise. We asked a group of fairly inexperienced bloggers in our Beyond Blogging Project to create, design and make ready for market an E Book. The idea was that they would learn the process, and understand the planning.

I always expected them to do a decent enough job - they're a talented bunch of individuals, with a lot of business and real-life experience to support them.

But I wasn't expecting to be blown away by the finished product.

And I have been.

They chose to write a book called Online Business Elements, and they covered subjects like:

• Avoiding procrastination
• Branding your business
• How to network successfully
• Dealing with failure
• Understanding the "why" of your business

This is serious, nitty gritty stuff, written by people who understand business. The lessons apply not just to blogging, but to anyone trying to make their way in the world as an entrepreneur.

You may think I'm biased, but the team sent copies out to some well known bloggers.

They've packaged the book with a couple of audio interviews which feature Nathan Hangen and then me, talking about how we got started in our online careers and how we built our own businesses.
