Almost without exception, when I visit a new blog for the first time, I check out the about page, and I’m sure it’s the same for most people.

That probably makes your about page, the single most important one on the site.
I’m going to share what I look for on an about page, and I hope you’ll add your thoughts below, so that we can come up with a template.
You
Who are you?
Where are you?
Why are you writing this blog?
The Blog
Who is it for?
What will it tell me?
How can I get the best from it?
What should I do next?
Before you shoot me down for not complying with this ideal, I deliberately didn’t check mine as I wrote this. I plan to do so once we can create a template based on what you add or subtract to the above list. Feel free to link to examples in your comments.
