Saturday Discussion - What price social media consultancy?

How much should we be charging for social media help?

I don't mean for people like us - we don't need it!

I'm talking about for conventional businesses. People who don't understand social media, but realise they need to "get into it."

I'm asked all the time for help, and I'm seeing more and more business opportunities.

It's not something I want to do loads of, but I quite enjoy it. My problem is in setting a price. So I'm curious to get your opinion, and I appreciate there will be geographical differences here.

I'll start the ball rolling. I set my price at ?40 (almost $50) an hour. And that seems to be working in that I'm not over run with that type of work, but enough people are interested in working with me.

How does that compare to what you charge, or what you think about it in terms of value?
