Switching My List to Aweber

Once again, I find myself in danger of contradicting a post I wrote not that long ago. As a regular reader, you may remember me extolling the virtues of Constant Contact as a great service to use as an email marketing tool. I still think they have a lot to offer, and I use them for my offline business, but having looked carefully at Aweber, I can see that it is so well attuned to internet marketing,  I decided to move over to them. Before we move on though, if you only have one list or one blog, and you’re looking for really well presented newsletter type emails, then Constant Contact is still the way to go, and one thing I love about them is that they offer a totally free 60 day trial, that doesn’t even require a credit card.

But, as you know, I run three blogs, and I’m more interested in getting some automation behind my marketing than I am in putting out the most stunning visual masterpieces, and in this area Aweber scores. Here are some of the features I love:

  • As many lists as you want within one account – so you can have diverse interests and different blogs in one account, because:
  • Each list has it’s own sign up form and welcome email, which can be customized
  • Each welcome email can have as many follow ups as you want, scheduled to happen when you want
  • Emails can have attachments put onto them
  • “Thank You” pages can be customized
  • Blog newsletters – with this feature you can send an email to subscribers, which simply takes your blog RSS feed and populates the email with the updates – no more copying and pasting URL’s manually!
  • Brilliant reporting system which shows opens, clicks and all the other detail you need, to know if your campaign is any good

As I say, Aweber is simply tuned into my needs, and that’s why they got my business. If you’re in a similar position to me, then you should change sooner, rather than later. This is because, even when you add people to your new Aweber list, they are sent an email asking them (quite rightly) if they want to opt in again. I didn’t lose many, but I did lose a few, so the earlier you start getting people into your new Aweber list, the better.

If you want to sign up with them now, you can do so here and yes I do get a small commission if you do so, but no you won’t pay any more than if you go direct! Also sign up for their affiliate program while you’re there and you can make a little money too.

If you’re still unsure, then sign up to their excellent test drive program using the form below. They’ll send you lots more information about their service and give you the chance to test drive it for free.
