I’m in danger of becoming a Brogan fan boy at the moment, as I seem to keep mentioning him, but the guy just talks so much sense!
Did you see his post this morning? In it he shares his three words for 2010, something he’s been doing for a few years.

I must have missed the previous ones, because it’s a new concept for me. But it’s a fabulous idea! You see we’ve all been working on our objectives for this year, and they’re probably quite wordy, time bound and realistic, and I’m sure we’ll all strive diligently to accomplish them. And even though we’ll read them every day, and check our progress regularly, there will be many times, in the heat of the moment, when we get caught up in doing stuff that doesn’t relate to those goals.
That’s why I love the three word concept. It’s easy to remember three words, whatever is going on around you, and that means the three words you choose can inform every decision you make, every word you write, and every aspect of your working life. That’s powerful.
I’d like to share my three words for 2010 with you, and if you choose to do the same, I’d love to read yours in the comments. Here are Mine:
Service
Warm
Connected
Service
I want to be of service to people, and I want to give good service to people – to everyone, not just those who have become customers, but to anyone who I can benefit in some small way
Warm
The internet, apart from at new year (!), can be a dispassionate place to hang out. I’m a warm person, I live in a warm place, and I want to spread some of that warmth around the web. That means fun, caring, relationships, love and respect.
Connected
I’m still a long way short of being “maxed out” on the number of people I’m connected with, both literally and figuratively. I want to connect with so many more people in 2010, and in turn be seen as someone who is connected.
These three words will form the basis of my decisions this year. If it doesn’t serve someone, or spread some warmth, or make a connection for someone else, or me, then I’ll be trying not to do it. Let me know if I trip up!
Over to you.
