Transglobe Blog - My New Project

I can’t wait to tell you about my new project. It’s called Transglobe Blog, but I should start by letting you know how it came about.

I bought the URL www.transglobeblog.com for another project, which started but then became mired in red tape, so it stopped. That left me wondering what to do about the URL, and the answer came out of the name. I decided to create a genuine Transworld Blog!

So here’s the plan:

  • The objective is to get a post on it from every country in the world! It isn’t that easy to establish an exact number, but there seem to be around 195.
  • Each country will have at least one, and up to a maximum of five posts on it.
  • Each post will be a “Day in the life” of the writer – you may not think your day in New York is that interesting, but to an Andean Yak farmer it probably is!
  • Each post will carry one photo (posters choice) and a link back to whatever site they choose.
  • I’ll upload no more than three posts a day per weekday, so the project will last at least 3-4 months

So what’s the point?

  • I think it will be fascinating and interesting to read posts from all over the world
  • It will create some amazing international connections for me, other posters and readers
  • It should create some great comments
  • It hope it will capture people’s imagination and interest around the world
  • Once (and if) we do get a post from every country in the world on there, the site will become a fascinating snapshot of life on our planet at the beginning of the 21st century

What can you do?

  • Please write me a “Day in the life” post from your country and I’ll get it on the site. Secure your link before it gets huge! Send the post to mike@transglobeblog.com
  • Please promote the site and the idea to your friends around the world using social media or anything else
  • Please feel free to post about Transglobe Blog on your own blog – I’ll link back to any posts in the news section

What are you waiting for?

What do you think?
