Ultimate Footer Ad

You may have noticed this:

It’s called the Ultimate Footer Ad and it appears on this site, at the footer every 10 pages or so. I’ve also installed it on my other two blogs, and they have been running with it for almost three weeks now.I tried it as an experiment because I’m really keen to grow my subscriber base, but I hate those “pop-up” or “hover” subscriber forms – I find them really intrusive.

I saw the UFA on another site, and liked the way it stayed discreetly at the bottom on the page, and the fact that it only appeared every few visits, rather than all the time. I went ahead and bought it, and promised myself that unless it had a significant impact on subscriptions, I would simply remove it.

Well the results are in. The effect has been amazing! Here are the Statistics:

1/ Dive blog – subscriptions up 52% over previous average

2/ Travel / Destination blog – subscriptions up 93% over previous average

3/ This blog – subscriptions more than double previous average

The figures are just astonishing, and although I still would prefer not to have it on my pages, I cannot ignore the benefits it brings and all the extra subscribers, so it’s going to stay.
