Why Would I Want To Be At My Computer When I Can Talk To Real People?

I was talking to a potential client the other day. I always start by asking owners to tell me about their business.

She did an amazing job! For some time, she waxed lyrical about her company, it's people, and the offer they make.

I was completely sold, to the point where I plan to buy her service.

And it proved once again to me that nobody can sell a business, a product or a service like the owner can.

We moved on to talk about social media, and she told me she couldn't understand it. "Why" she said "Would I want to spend my time at the computer when I could be talking to real people, like I am now?"

The answer, of course, is that social media scales. By building a community with her, I can put her in front of thousands of people. So instead of doing a fantastic selling job on two or three people each day, she can reach huge numbers in moments.

The trick is showing her how to translate her passion and skill into the world of the keyboard and screen.

That's where I come in.
