Windows Livewriter - The Ultimate Blog Tool

If you don’t currently use Live Writer, then try it right now. It’s perfect for bloggers and provides the easiest to use “What you see is what you get” interface ever for posting to the blog. Basically is you’ve used Microsoft Word, then you can use Live Writer, as all the functions are the same.

LW

You download Live Writer to your PC here. Once installed go to the top right button and select “Add blog account”. The wizard will then take you through the set up steps to connect Live Writer with your blog, and in the process it will learn the style of the blog and the categories you use to post. That’s it! You’re ready to use it!

As Live Writer is on your PC, you can work offline, and you can save posts. You can also use the bottom left button to schedule posts to appear at some point in the future.

Adding photos into the text is a doddle, and once they’re on they can be moved or resized using drag or click. Videos embed seamlessly, as do maps, tables and hyperlinks.

You can also move quickly from edit mode to Source mode and input HTML for forms or adverts.

Like many online people, I’m not a huge fan of Microsoft, but this is one of their very best products, and best of all it’s free of charge!

Download it now - it works across almost all platforms (including Drupal) - it really will change your blogging experience and help to make the best use of your blogging time.

Do you use Live Writer or any other WYSIWYG products for your blogging?

Some time back I looked at wBloggar but as it had not had any development on it for a few years I gave it up. I have experimented with Scribefire which is a Firefox extension and provides a "light" blog writer experience but I find myself being drawn to Live Writer as it is a more comprehensive and rounded program that works perfectly, most unusual for a MS offering!
